Unwavered by her failed attempt for the presidential position last election, Senator Grace Poe has once again run for a re-election senatorial bid this coming May election. Last Tuesday, February 19, 2019, Poe visited San Carlos City, and presented herself to gain support from her late father, the actor – Fernando Poe Jr’s hometown, for the upcoming May election. She met with the local officials of San Carlos City, headed by Mayor Joseres Resuello. With him is Abono Partylist representative Rosendo So.

She expressed her gratitude for the support of the townspeople that was given to her in the last election, despite the pressures and the outcome of losing the presidential bid. After a brief speech at the Municipal Hall, she headed to the PSU-San Carlos Campus to meet with the students. Present in the university are running for Vice Governor Mark Lambino, running for Board Member Darwina Sampang, Councilor Sammy Millora, PSU Executive Director Dr. Cesar Della, PSU Executive Director Dr. Honorio Cascolan, Dr. Adonis Bautista, Dr. Evelyn Lomboy, Dr. Marie Claire Briones, Dr. Baldina Gutierrez, together with the teachers, professors and students of PSU.

Another bill I am pushing is an internship program in all government offices and hospitals with pay. Because many of you are rather paying them for internship)” Poe stated. First Time Job Seekers Act”. If you have the opportunity to get a license, instead of 3 years, it would now become 5 years extendable to 10. I was the one who passed that bill. The 5 years passport validity before is now also 10 years. Another one, I am only waiting for the signature approval of the president, we already passed the bill “First Time Job Seekers Act”. When you graduate with your diploma, all government permits and clearances, NBI, NSO, government hospital check-up, will be accessible freely to all the students. If you have an emaciated sibling or skinny, there is now free lunch in public schools. But if none, the government hasn’t implemented it in all schools),” she added stating her political agendas.

A brief forum was later held. Some students were given the chance to asked questions, and hot topic like fake news were raised. (So to the students of Pangasinan State University, to the teachers, to the officials present today, I am grateful to your warm hospitality. When I return, I hope we would see each other. And hopefully, could you not forget me this coming election? Could you tell your boyfriend, your girlfriend, to your parents and siblings, if ever, they could help me?)” Poe ended.
